Privacy notice
This page explains what happens to the information you send us through this website — nothing more, and nothing less.
Who we are
The organisation responsible for your information is Supporting Homeless, Perseverance House, 8 Ida Road, Pleck, Walsall, WS2 9SR. If you have any question about this notice or about information we hold, contact andrew@supportinghomeless.org or call 01922 612090.
What we collect
The only place this website collects information from you is the enquiry form on the Ask about a place page. It asks for:
- your name
- your email address
- a phone number, if you choose to give one
- a few sentences about what is happening
- how urgent it is
- if you are asking as a professional, the name of your organisation
You have to tick a box confirming we can contact you before the form will send.
We do not ask for your date of birth, your National Insurance number, or any medical records. If you choose to write about your health or your circumstances in the free-text box, that is your decision — and it will be treated as sensitive information, as set out below.
Why we are allowed to use it
We use what you send us to answer your enquiry and, if you are asking about a place, to decide whether we can help. In legal terms we rely on our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us.
Where you tell us something about your health or your care needs in the free-text box, we rely on the consent you give by ticking the box and sending the form. You can withdraw that consent at any time by contacting us, though that will usually mean we can no longer answer your enquiry.
What happens to it
When you submit the form, its contents are emailed directly to the person who handles enquiries. That is the only thing that happens to it. We do not store what you send anywhere on this website — there is no database behind this site and nothing is written to a log. Once the email has been sent, the only copy that exists is in that mailbox.
How long we keep it
Enquiry emails are kept only while we are dealing with your enquiry. If your enquiry does not lead to a place with us, we delete the email within 12 months. If you come to live with us, the information becomes part of your care record and is kept for as long as you are with us, and afterwards for the period our regulator and insurers require.
Who else sees it
Nobody outside this organisation, other than the company that provides our email service and hosts this website on our behalf. We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for marketing or advertising.
We would only pass it to someone else without your agreement if the law required it — for example, if we believed you or another person was at serious risk of harm.
Cookies and tracking
This website does not use cookies, and it does not use any analytics or tracking tools. We do not build a profile of you and we do not follow you to other websites.
Other services you can choose to open
Two pages on this site let you load something from another company — a Google map on the contact page, and a PayPal donation button on the donations page. Neither loads anything until you click it, so nothing is shared with either company unless you choose to. If you do click, that company will see your IP address and will apply its own privacy policy. Our Facebook and Instagram links are ordinary links; they do not load anything from those sites either.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to the way we are using it. Contact us using the details at the top of this page and we will respond within one month.
Complaining
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Changes to this notice
If we change how we handle information, we will update this page. This version is dated 25 September 2026.
